Stats don't tell the whole story. Watch matches or highlights to assess player confidence, team tactics, and how dangerous a player looks. A player constantly getting into good positions who's been unlucky will eventually score. Form is temporary, but sometimes temporary form lasts long enough to be profitable.
Balancing Template vs Differentials
The optimal FPL team balances template safety with differential upside. A common approach is owning the essential template players (Haaland when fit, Salah most weeks, premium defenders from top teams) while taking 2-3 differential punts elsewhere in your squad.
